I was impressed by some of the analysts in the tour, who showed more knowledgeable even for companies big and small. It seems a lot more research resources could be used to help with the work, including 3rd party research firms. More trips are needed, just to have regular meetings with managements and to cross-check different companies to understand the industry trends better. Now that we are looking at global technology, we need to get back to the ground to talk to more people.
In addition, I was reading the book <Cuba>. It's fascinating about the story of the rise of Fidel Castro. It reminds me of the story of Mao. For outsiders, it's always having a romantic color when reading these revolutionary figures. I will finish the book this week. It's been on my list for way too long time.
